Queensland Investment Consulting Group (QICG), ACN 618 591 218 (‘QICG’, ‘we’ ‘our’ or ‘us’) as collectors and users (i.e. data controllers) of personal information are bound by privacy laws in various jurisdictions. This Policy supports our Code of Business Conduct and governance framework.
By providing your personal information, you are consenting to the Privacy Policy and to such collection, access, transfer, storage and processing of your personal information as described in this policy.
This Privacy Policy outlines what sort of personal information we hold, the purposes for which it is held, and how that information is collected, held, used and disclosed.
The policy applies to:
* QICG as collectors and users of personal information, and
* QICG directors, officers, employees, consultants and contractors, as well as external parties (such as clients and service providers) who provide personal information to QICG.
The sources of legal obligations behind this Policy include Australia’s Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles contained in that Act.
The personal information we collect will vary depending on the circumstances but, in all cases, we will only collect information about an individual that is relevant to our business relationship with them. For example, we may collect an individual’s name, contact details, resumes, information about our interaction with them and other relevant details that will assist generally in our business dealings or more specifically for QICG to provide consulting services to various individuals and clients.
QICG could collect personal information in the following situations:
* whenever an business enquiries is provided by an individual;
* via an phone call or email with an individual;
* via a enquiry from our online business platform or social media about an individual;
* when information about past enquiries from our previous contact or refer by our trusted business partners; or
* information is otherwise sourced from the public domain.
However, QICG will only collect information about an individual that is relevant to the business relationship with them. QICG may be legally obliged in certain circumstances to collect certain personal information. Where certain personal information is not collected, some individual requests or enquiries may not be able to be fulfilled or processed and the ability of QICG to provide its services may be limited.
We usually collect personal information about you when you are in contact with us, including over the telephone, when you send us correspondence (e.g. by letter, facsimile or email), via QICG or third party website portals or when you have contact with us in person.
We may also collect personal information that you submit to our website such as online enquiry forms and email addresses.
We may use cookies to improve your online experience. Any data collected is only used for automating the tasks in your web session. You can disable cookies at any time via your web browsers security settings. Disabling cookies will have no effect on your web session other than the fact that you will need to re-enter data that would normally be stored by the cookie.
Where practical, we will collect your personal information from you directly. However, we may also collect your personal information from a third party. For example, personal information may be collected through QICG’s interactions with third parties with whom QICG does business, such as clients who use QICG's services, or contractors and suppliers engaged by QICG to assist in the provision of QICG’s services. Personal information may also be collected from any referees nominated in a online form or enquiries submitted to QICG.
We use personal information to enable us to provide our business consulting services, to facilitate business development and to provide electronic marketing communications where you have consented to receiving such communications.
You may opt out of receiving marketing communications from us at any time, by following the opt-out instructions provided in such marketing communications.
We will not use your personal information for any other purposes unless you consent to such use by us, such uses as are disclosed to you when we collect the information or as otherwise permitted or required by law.
We do not transfer or disclose your personal information to others, unless otherwise giving the consent from the client.
We, and our service providers, take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure using physical, electronic and procedural safeguards. To keep electronic information secure, we use a range of security measures, such as restricting access to users who have a valid username and password.
We endeavour to make sure that the personal information which we hold is accurate, complete and up-to-date. If we are notified that the information we hold is not accurate, complete, or up-to-date, we will take steps to validate the information and ensure that it is corrected, if necessary, or note the requested changes to the information. If you believe that the personal information that we hold about you is incorrect, incomplete, or inaccurate, you may request that it be amended by contacting the QICG Privacy Officer in writing at the email address listed below. If, upon review, we decide that these changes are necessary, they will be implemented within a reasonable time and we will contact you to confirm that the requested changes have been made.
We take steps to destroy or de-identify personal information that is no longer needed for the purposes for which it was collected and if we are no longer required by law to retain it. The destruction or de-identification of unneeded information is carried out using secure methods.
We will also take steps to destroy or delete personal information within a reasonable time if we receive a written notification from you that you withdraw your consent to our storing and processing of your personal information and/or if you request that this information be destroyed or deleted in circumstances where we are not otherwise required by law to retain that information.
In most circumstances, we will allow you to access the personal information we hold about you. However, in some cases, access may be denied because we are either permitted or required by law to deny access to that information. Where we refuse to provide access to particular personal information, QICG will provide reasons for that refusal.

We will aim to resolve all enquiries promptly.
Individual complaints can also be made to our Privacy Officer but must be supplemented with sufficient details about the complaint in addition to relevant supporting evidence, information and documentation. We will contact you if further information about a complaint is required and we will provide you written notification as to the outcome of the Privacy Officer’s investigation.

Any personal information we hold will be governed by the most up-to-date version of the Privacy Policy. Where there are any changes made to our Privacy Policy, the most current details will be available on our website.
