Australia Federal government calls on states to support economy during pandemic
The federal government is placing increased pressure on states and territories to do more to steer the nation's economy back on track. The Coalition has raised more than $300 billion in stimulus - the equivalent of 16 per cent of the nation's GDP - to support Australians through the coronavirus crisis. Treasurer Josh Frydenberg has been calling on the states to fast track infrastructure, and introduce more tax benefits and grants for businesses.
